Concetto by Saveur

Concetto is an Italian restaurant, which I heard positive reviews in terms of their affordable price, decent dishes and cheery ambience. It was even featured in clicknetwork. I decided to make a phone reservation to see it for myself.

The restaurant seems to have a cheery atmosphere when I entered.

Here's our order.

Beef Oyster Blade (SGD 15.90) 

The Beef Oyster Blade is truly appealing to the eye. I couldn't help but to take pictures of the work of art. I like the tenderness of the beef. The serving wasn't too big so order if you do not have a big appetite or would like to try other dishes. In conclusion ,the overall presentation scores more than the taste itself. 

I will give it a 7/10. 

Duck Tortellini (SGD 12.90)

Food presented with parmesan emulsion makes the dish looks 'fine dining'. What's more, the duck tortellini is topped with poached egg, which doubles the appeal. The overall taste was above average. Highly recommended.

 Tiramisu (SGD10.90)

When I think of Italian dessert, I'll think of Tiramisu. The restaurant emphasized the tiramisu is prepared "in a concetto way" so I was curious of how are they going to prepare the most celebrated Italian dessert. True enough, I like the creativity of how the tiramisu was presented, although most of the ingredients are the same as the traditional. 

Rate: 8/10 

The dishes are pretty decent, The food presentation wasn't compromise despite being friendly to my wallet. 

However, I felt that the servers were always in a rush. One of the server even dropped my card on the floor after payment without even realizing. I hope that they may improve on that.

Food: 7.5/10

Ambience: 6.5/10 

Service: 5.5/10
